该片以第一个将南京大屠杀史实介绍给世界的华裔作家张纯如、拍摄《南京》纪录片的美国导演比尔·古登泰格、中国社会科学院近代史研究所原所长、《跨越战后》作者步平等6个当代人物的视角为叙事主线，对南京大屠杀进行反思，用原创性解读、揭秘性内容和新颖独到的资料，客观理性地重新审视发生在南京的那场反人类暴行。 （英语）This is a recollect of Nanjing Massacre from the perspectives of six contemporary persons including Iris Chang, the first Chinese American writer who told the world the truth of the Massacre, Bill Guttentag, American director of the documentary Nanking, and Bu Ping, former director of the Institute of Modern History, CASS and author of Post-WWII. With original comments, unveiled unknowns and materials of high relevance, it reviews the brutal inhumanity in an objective and rational manner.
