Beijing TV and Film International Screening Kicks Off in London

In the afternoon of February 21, 2023, the overseas exhibition season of Beijing TV and Film International Screening was successfully launched in London, the capital of the United Kingdom. Following the successful Glasgow special event, a number of audiovisual masterpieces such as "Singing for the Central Axis of Beijing", "365 Stories of the Chinese Dream" and "The City of Museums" were presented in London. The event was attended by representatives from the Creative Industries Unit of the UK Department of Business and Trade, the Cultural Office of the Chinese Embassy in the UK, the Chinese Tourism Office in London, local film and television investment and distribution agencies, industry associations and enterprises in the UK. This screening is sponsored by Beijing Radio and Television Bureau and organized by Jingzu Culture Media (Beijing) Co.

 

At the event, everyone watched the promotional film and learned about the important role played by the "Beijing TV and Film International Screening" as a business card of Beijing's cultural communication, in promoting the foreign exchange of Beijing's new audiovisual industry, expanding the field of cooperation and increasing the influence of international communication.

 

Kong Jianhua, Deputy Director of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Radio and Television, introduced the development of Beijing's audiovisual field and the cooperation vision of the overseas exhibition season of Beijing's outstanding film and TV dramas through a video message, looking forward to deepening cooperation with the UK in the fields of audiovisual content, industry and technology, especially the commercial use of film and TV IP, the application of audiovisual technology innovation and the promotion and use of audiovisual scenes.

 

Neil Semple (Creative Content Lead, Creative Industries, Department for Business and Trade) introduced the development and latest trends of the British film and television industry, and shared and promoted the British mainstream He also shared and introduced the mainstream British productions and hoped to deepen the relationship and further exchange and cooperation with the film industry in Beijing.

 

During the screening session, "Singing for the Central Axis of Beijing" unveiled the Beijing Central Axis from the perspectives of technology, nature, history and humanity. The participants unanimously praised the architectural structure and looked forward to more opportunities to visit Beijing's central axis and experience China's long history and culture on the ground.

 

The event also invited senior directors, winners of the London Short Film Festival, to share their creative experiences on site. Students from London School of Art are looking forward to showcasing the beauty and food of Beijing and London with their works, and recording the new changes in Beijing and London in the new era through their lenses.
