Call for films | The 10th Silk Road International Film Festival

To implement the "One Belt, One Road" initiative, inherit the Silk Road spirit, promote the Silk Road culture and people-to-people contact, use film as a link, use the film festival as a window, highlight the characteristics of the Silk Road, the sea and the Strait, build an international platform for film exchange and cooperation, and cultivate film and television and related industrial chains. To tell the story of China, to spread the voice of China and to show the world a true, three-dimensional and comprehensive image of China. The Silk Road International Film Festival will become a film festival with strong international influence and promote cultural exchange and mutual appreciation between China and the countries along the "Belt and Road" and the world.

 

The Silk Road International Film Festival is hosted annually by Fuzhou, Fujian Province and Xi'an, Shaanxi Province on a rotating basis. The 10th Silk Road International Film Festival will be held in Fuzhou, Fujian in 2023.

 

 

 

Registration Period

 

11 April 2023 - 30 June 2023

 

 

 

Eligibility

 

Films meeting the following criteria are eligible for entry to the 10th Silk Road International Film Festival Screening Section:

 

(1) The film has been produced no earlier than 1 January 2022, with the exception of specific thematic film festivals.

(2) Feature films or animated films of a duration of at least 70 minutes.

(3) Documentaries of a duration of not less than 60 minutes.

(4) Film specifications in 35mm for film and DCP format for digital films.

(5) All films with non-Mandarin Chinese dialogue must be accompanied by English or Chinese subtitles.

(6) Films from China must obtain a public screening licence.

(8) Priority will be given to films that have their world premiere, international premiere, Asian premiere or Chinese premiere at the 10th Silk Road International Film Festival.

Sample DVDs of submitted films (content must be identical to the film print) should be sent to the following address by 5 July 2023 at the latest
