Guangxi Radio and Television Station's Cross-country Welcome Program Enters Laos

At 10:00 a.m. on December 23, the National Palace of Culture of Laos was full of people. The transnational welcome activity of "Singing Together on the Four Seas and Resonating on the Silk Road" jointly organized by Guangxi Radio and Television and Lao National Television was held here. Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos Mr. Poosi Choumanieng gave a speech for the event, Director of Lao National Television Mr. Aka Ongmenkar, Director of Art and Culture Department of the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos Mr. Bokkei Pangpachan, Director of Supervision Department of the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos Mr. Bomane Sethira, representatives of Chinese Embassy in Laos, Lao-China Railway Company Limited, China Water Conservancy & Hydropower Corporation, Guangxi Chamber of Commerce of Laos and more than 400 Vientiane citizens attended the event. More than 400 Vientiane citizens attended the event.

 

At the scene of the event, Laos' national musical instruments and traditional dances and folk songs and Tianqin and rhymes from Guangxi resonated in unison, and singers and actors from both countries cooperated with one heart and soul, dedicating a splendid cultural feast to the audience with infectious performances.

 

2023 is to build a closer China - ASEAN community of destiny, the construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative put forward 10 years, China and the Lao People's Democratic Republic, hand in hand, common cultivation of the "Belt and Road" fertile soil, bearing fruit. In particular, the opening and operation of the China-Laos Railway has injected new momentum into the development of the two countries. On the scene of this event, the Lao-China Railway Co., Ltd. deputy chief engineer Wengtong Supantong and the train conductor Tong Li'er shared with the audience the story behind the opening and operation of the China-Laos Railway. Vongthong Sopanthong said that more and more foreign enterprises have invested along the China-Laos Railway, which has greatly boosted the economic development of Laos, and as a Laotian, he felt very proud. Tong Li'er said she saw more and more Lao friends traveling and studying in China on the China-Laos Railway train, and more and more Lao students began to learn Chinese, and she truly felt the deepening friendship between China and Laos.

 

Since 2014, Guangxi Radio and Television Station has successively opened "China Theater", "China Animation" and other fixed TV programs in mainstream TV stations in ASEAN countries such as Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam, broadcasting excellent Chinese TV dramas, animated films and documentaries all year round, which has become an important window for ASEAN viewers to learn more about China's culture and the new style of China's development. TV dramas such as Dream of Red Mansions (1987 version), Nirvana in Fire, Happy Noodles, etc. translated and produced by Guangxi Radio and Television Station have been well received by the Lao audience, and more and more excellent film and TV works have become a bridge to enhance mutual understanding and affection between the people of China and Laos, especially the young generation.
