The 12th Vancouver Chinese Film Festival (VCFF) will be held from October 2 to October 6, 2024 in Vancouver, Canada.

This year's festival will invite a number of senior filmmakers and Hollywood stars from North America and Europe to serve as jury members, in an effort to promote quality Chinese films and outstanding young filmmakers to a higher international platform, and we look forward to the excellent works of all filmmakers! Let's meet in Vancouver in 2024! We sincerely invite all filmmakers to join us for this great event, please look forward to it.

Scope of Selection

The Vancouver Chinese Film Festival offers a total of feature films, short films, animated films, documentaries, etc. Chinese language films in Mandarin, Cantonese, Minnan, etc. or non-Chinese language films with Chinese participation in directing, cinematography, screenwriting, starring, and other positions in the cast and crew, regardless of the country. Films must be produced after February 2018, with a feature length of 80 minutes or more, and a short film length of 45 minutes or less. The subject matter is not limited.

Entry Methods and Procedures

Registration materials required: All participating film crews must provide the organizing committee with the complete film, film clips, posters, stills, film description in English and Chinese, director's description in English and Chinese, and cast list, and save them to Baidu.com, then send the link to Baidu.com and the extraction code to the organizing committee's email address.

There are two ways to register (choose one):

1. Online registration: log on to the official website, fill in the online registration information and complete the online payment.

For online registration, you need to put the Baidu.com disk link and the extraction code in the movie link section.

2. Offline registration: visit the official website to download the registration form and fill in the form, and scan the code to make payment.

Selection of "Seeing China" 2024 opens

In April 2024, the Organizing Committee will send five young Canadian directors to Anhui Province, China, for 17 days of filming. The selection process is now open.

Selection requirements:

1. Non-Chinese youth who are interested in Chinese culture.

2. Current students or recent graduates of film schools (or film and television related majors).

Be able to complete a movie independently.

4. Be able to operate camera equipment and use post-production editing software.

The selection process is divided into a preliminary selection, a re-screening and an interview.

The organizing committee of the festival will announce the final selection of the participants who will go to China, and the organizing committee will bear all the expenses for air tickets, accommodation, food and filming during the period of going to China.
