ATF x Mango 1% Formats Pitch 2024 — An international format competition initiated by China’s Hunan TV & Mango TV. The possibilities of storytelling are endless; however, we believe only the top 1% of super hits has the power to trend-set and era-define. The ATF × Mango 1% Formats Pitch aims to discover and develop this 1% innovative formats content that can bring local audience together and travel across multiple screens and various cultures.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We will focus on stand-out, non-scripted formats that are fresh, new, entertaining, and young-skewing, but also have broad appeal. We are open to all genres with preferences for:

▪ Whittled-down style talent competition, making the next super stars;

▪ Large-scale, ambitious studio entertainment and reality competition shows;

▪ Innovative formats utilizing new technologies, such as virtual reality, AI, and multi-screen integration, etc.

PRIZE

▪ Cash prize of SGD 3,500 for the winner;

▪ Development & distribution package worth over SGD 30,000;

▪ Co-development deal with Hunan TV & Mango TV;

▪ Sponsored cultural exchange & business visit to China;

▪ Opportunity to launch your show in one of the world's largest markets;

▪ International production and distribution support.

ELIGIBILITY

▪ For new ideas/concepts (unfunded or partially funded) for unscripted (formats).

▪ Submission applicant can be the IP’s Founder, Owner, Creator, Writer, Director, Producer or Executive-in-Charge, but must be available to represent the IP if chosen for the ATF x Mango 1% Formats Pitch 2024.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

▪ Prepare your submission materials in ONE combined document or visual deck in ENGLISH only.

▪ There is no fee to enter.

▪ Only completed applications will be assessed.

▪ Please ensure that all information is filled up and submitted for every project that is submitted, and details are current—in the event a project needs to be contacted.

▪ Each project must be submitted separately.

▪ There is no limit to the number of pages to the submission, but brevity will be appreciated.

Each project to be submitted in ONE combined document or visual deck. Submitted project(s) must address the following:

1. Logline (up to 3 sentences)

2. Synopsis (200—500 words) of the Project’s Overview

3. Participant Delegate’s Profile and Photo

4. Writer/Showrunner/Creator or Director or Producer’s Intention / Vision (max 200 words)

5. Estimated Total Budget / Rough production & delivery timelines (optional but beneficial)

6. Writer, Producer’s and/or Director’s Profiles / Photos (if applicable)

7. Production Company Profile (if applicable; max 400 words)

8. Online samples of Writer, Director and/or Producer’s past works (optional but beneficial)

9. Any videos, artwork or concept drawings related to the Project (optional but beneficial)

10. Any other information on the project’s elements (attached actors, distribution, marketing plan etc.)

There is no limit to the number of pages to the submission. Incomplete submissions will not be evaluated.

NOTES

▪ Concept Bibles are not required at point of submission but will be beneficial if selected for the pitch.

▪ Concepts with a fuller base of creative materials and presentations (deck, visuals, synopses, character bios, storyboards, character designs etc) and attached elements (directors, writers, co-producers, production companies, distribution, actors, financing partners etc.) will be assessed more favourably.

▪ All concepts will be assessed under the strictest confidence between the selection panel.

▪ By submitting their project and all relevant information (“Submitted Information”) to the ATF x Mango 1% Formats Pitch 2024,  each applicant grants, and on behalf of all other individuals listed in the submission, (i) grant the organisers of ATF access to the Submitted Information for the purposes of evaluating and shortlisting the final projects; and (ii) the right to reproduce, publish and use the Submitted Information as it deems fit for marketing and publicity purposes.
