Event Overview

The 7th West Lake International Documentary Festival(IDF 2024),organized by the China Academy of Art and guided by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, will be held in Hangzhou, China, fromFriday,25/10/2024,to sunday,27/10/2024. The theme of this year's festival is "Co-Existing," and it will consist of three main sections: lDF Competition, IDF Forum, and Glory of Documentary Screening Section. The acronym "IDF" stands for "l Documentary Fact," emphasizing the relationship between documentary creators, cinematic techniques, and their subjects.

During the 6th West Lake international Documentary Festival, over 70 special guests, more than 90 self-registered industry guests, and nearly 100 press representatives gathered in Hangzhou to witness the light of documentaries. The screening reservation mini-program received nearly 320,000 views, with over 7,000 people making reservations. The festival also shared content via platforms such as Tencent Video, Douban, Bilibili and international social media like Facebook and Instagram. This multi-channel approach brought the competition, screenings, and forums to the public. Major official media outlets, provincial channels, and online media covered the event with news releases, special issues, and interviews, resulting in more than 100 reports. The participation of industry guests and press significantly enhanced the festival's reputation and influence.

Registration Time

The registration period for the 7th West Lake international Documentary Festival is from now until 4:00 PM(UTC+8)on October 10,2024.

Applications received after this deadline will not be processed.

Industry Guest | Press Registration

▪ Please log in the official website (https://www.westlakeidf.com/en/media) of West Lake International Documentary, fill in the registration form and upload the required materials；

▪ The IDF organizing committee will verify the qualification of the registrant according to the uploaded information and materials. After verification, the registrant will be notified by email or SMS;

▪ The IDF organizing committee will provide one festival pass and one IDF package for each industry guest/press. The festival pass will be the only certificate for attending the festival. It cannot be transferred or lent. If the festival pass is lost, it will not be reissued;

▪ Each company, institution, organization can obtain a maximum of two festival passes;

▪ The IDF organizing committee owns the right to interpret the use of the festival pass.
