The launch ceremony of the 2024 Golden Rooster International Film Section took place on November 11th at the MixC Cinema in Xiamen, Southeast China's Fujian Province. Representatives from the China Film Association, the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Xiamen Municipal Committee, the Xiamen Film Bureau and Xiamen Film Festival Co., Ltd. attended, jointly inaugurating the event.

After the ceremony, classic film La Strada (The Road), directed by Italian film master Federico Fellini, was screened as the opening film. This year, the Golden Rooster International Film Section takes "the road" as the theme to pay tribute to the classic movie and convey the concept that "the road is broad and let's continue to walk hand in hand with films".

The crew of the Chinese film I am the Secret in Your Heart, guests from various fields and the audience enjoyed the opening film together, kicking off the cinematic journey.

As one of the main activities of the China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival, the Golden Rooster International Film Section will screen 37 international films from around the world this year.

There'll not only be classics, but also several new overseas films from world-renowned film festivals such as the Cannes Film Festival and the Berlin Film Festival, which will have their Chinese and even Asian premieres.

These outstanding films will be screened in various cinemas in Xiamen from November 11th to 24th. Some films' creative teams will also attend exchange programs during the film section, sharing the behind-the-scenes stories with the audience.
