Submissions for films for Annecy 2025 are Open!

The 49th Annecy International Animation Film Festival, organised by CITIA, will be held from 8th to 14th June 2025.

 

In 2024, the Annecy International Animation Film Festival has received over 3,400 films (shorts and feature films, TV and commissioned films, VR Works) from all over the world between November and April.200 films have been shortlisted to take part in the official selection.

 

There is no entry fee required

1. Short Films

 

Submissions are open until 15 February 2025 at 23:59

 

a) Length

Have a running time of less than 59 minutes and 59 seconds, including the credits.

 

b) Subtitles

If the original language of the film is not French or English, the film must be submitted with English or French subtitles so that it can be understood.

 

*The applicant must provide the presentation copy before 15th May 2025. Selected films will only be shown in DCP format (unencrypted, without KDM).

 

 

 

2. Feature Films

 

Submissions are open until 15 March 2025 at 23:59

 

a) Length

Have a running time of 60 minutes, including the credits.

 

b) Subtitles

If the original language of the film is not French or English, the film must be submitted with English or French subtitles so that it can be understood.

 

*The entrant must provide the presentation copy before 15th May 2025. Selected films will only be shown in DCP format (unencrypted, without KDM).

 

 

 

3. TV Films

 

Submissions are open until 15 February 2025 at 23:59

 

a) Eligible works

TV Series , Webseries (only one episode per series can be submitted. Any episodes submitted from a series already selected in a previous edition, as well as pilots, will not be accepted) and TV Specials.

 

b) Subtitles

If the original language of the film is not French or English, the film must be submitted with English or French subtitles so that it can be understood.

Non-French-language television films selected for the competition must be subtitled in French at the entrants’ expense.

 

*The entrant must provide the presentation copy before 15th May 2025. Selected films will only be shown in DCP format (unencrypted, without KDM).

 

 

 

4. Commissioned Films

 

Submissions are open until 15 February 2025 at 23:59

 

a) Eligible works

•Educational, scientific or corporate films

• Advertising or promotional films

• Music videos

 

b) Subtitles

If the original language of the film is not French or English, the film must be submitted with English or French subtitles so that it can be understood.

The entrant must provide the presentation copy before 15th May 2025. Selected films will only be shown in DCP format (unencrypted, without KDM).

 

*The commissioned films selected for competition will only be shown in their original version if they are subtitled in English at the entrants’ expense.


 

 

5. Graduation Films

 

Submissions are open until 15 February 2025 at 23:59

 

a) Length

Have a minimum running time of 2 minutes and maximum running time of 29 minutes and 59, including the credits.

 

b) Subtitles

If the original language of the film is not French or English, the film must be submitted with English or French subtitles so that it can be understood.

The graduation films selected for competition will only be shown in their original version if they are subtitled in English, at the entrant’s expense.

 

*The entrant must provide the presentation copy before 15th May 2025. Selected films will only be shown in DCP format (unencrypted, without KDM).

 

*Submissions are limited to 8 films per school or institute.

 

 

 

6. VR Works

 

Submissions opens on 7 January 2025 at 00:00.
