This project is an animated series of typical Chinese ink painting style produced by CCTV Animation Group. Originated from the classic traditional Chinese folktale "Birds Paying Homage to the Phoenix ", the series tells the story how a little bird that is not eye-catching goes through all kinds of difficulties and hardship to save his homeland and eventually becomes a phoenix that attracts everyone's attention. The series takes advantage of interesting plots to show Chinese people's national spirits of diligence, bravery and wisdom carried by the phoenix and uses the unique freehand brushwork of Chinese ink painting to present the varied features of traditional Chinese culture. The series has been listed as the key project of "China Classic Folk Story Animation Creation Project" by China’s National Radio and Television Administration in 2018.
