During the Republic of China, a young engineer Su Molin, who works for the German Rodman Textiles and Garment Company in Tianjin, becomes liable for his father’s debt to Gaoyang Cotton Store because his father Su Mingquan is killed by the Japanese invaders. He returns to Gaoyang and runs the cotton store. Because of his ambition to help save the country through his commercial enterprise, Su Molin uses his wits and courage against the Japanese, organizes normal people to weave fabric and make clothes for the resistance, and uses his own power to keep up the development of the national industries, defend against foreign invaders, and contribute to the victory of the War of Resistance.
