The Perfect World Pictures is a prominent cultural investor, producer, and distributor in the film and television industry in China. Its core business includes development, production, distribution and marketing of film and television programs; entertainment programs; star brokerage; management of performances; as well as derivative brokerage, among other activities.
The Perfect World Pictures was founded in August 2008. Thanks to the rapid growth of cultural industry and the strong support of government policies, the Perfect World Pictures has participated in the production and distribution of more than 300 excellent film and television programs while winning over 500 awards.
While producing wonderful TV works, the Perfect World Pictures has also invested in a number of films such as Piano in A Factory, Love Is Not Blind, Up in the Wind, We Get Married, Extraordinary Mission, Angels Wear White, and Cloudy Mountain, thus becoming a model in the industry with good reputation and excellent box office. Among them, Love Is Not Blind is a milestone of domestic low-cost films. This film, the largest box office dark horse in the film market in 2011, won the Excellent Feature Film award in the 15th Huabiao Film Awards and the 31st Hundred Flowers Award. At the same time, the Perfect World Pictures has also introduced many foreign films into the Chinese market. In February 2016, the Perfect World Pictures announced that it had reached investment and strategic cooperation agreement with Universal Pictures of Hollywood, marking the first time for the Chinese entertainment enterprise to directly sign a long-term cooperation agreement with one of the six largest US producers in Hollywood. We have collaborated on over 50 films. Among the titles included in our list of cooperative projects are notable works such as the Darkest Hour, the Phantom Thread, the Black Klansman, and the First Man won Oscar Awards.In 2017, the Perfect World Pictures purchases part of the shares of JAYWALK Studio to lead the investment in round-D financing of new studios while continuously expanding the pan-entertainment strategic layout. Produced by Perfect Village and directed by Zhang Yimou, the film Shadow surprised audiences at home and abroad and won major awards such as the Golden Horse Award.
