The first opera film exhibition will focus on the innovation and inheritance of opera culture, and collect films, online movies, microfilms, micro drama, online documentaries, etc. with elements of opera on a global scale. The event is organized by The Chinese Theatre Literature Association, China Film Foundation and Anhui Provincial Film Administration.

I. Units

Feature film

Films with a duration of 60 minutes or more, which have obtained a license for public exhibition of films or a license for distribution of online dramas.

Short film

Micro-films, micro-dramas and web documentaries with a length of 5 minutes to less than 30 minutes.

The short video unit recognizes short video works that participate in the topic unit of new media platforms.

III. Participation Methods

Send the application form, authorization letter, poster, film and works burned into a data CD or U disk, film production DCP, together to the Organizing Committee of China Opera Film Festival, or send the above information through the Baidu Nestdisk link to coff2023@126.com, the subject of the file will be: name of the work + submitting unit + name.

IV. Format of works

1. Content: including the work title, main film, credits (cast and crew list);

2. Format: DCP format/MP4 format (1920*1080 or above resolution), video size of 1G or less for short film units, clear picture, set Chinese subtitles (juxtaposition of Chinese and English subtitles is encouraged)

3. Duration

Feature film: movie, network movie more than 60 minutes.

Short film unit: microfilm, micro drama, network documentary single episode 5 minutes to 30 minutes.

4. Poster: Provide a poster (height 70cm X width 50cm) in JPEG format.

V. Requirements for Entries

The participating works of the event shall be films, online films, micro-films, micro-dramas and online documentaries created during the period from September 1, 2021 to August 31, 2024 that contain elements of Chinese opera.

Individuals or organizations can submit multiple works.

VI. Awards

Feature film unit: Best Opera Feature Film, Best Opera Film, Best Documentary/Science Teaching Film, Special Honor of the Jury (1 each) Best Director, Best Screenwriter, Best Cinematographer, Best Art, Best Music, Best Editor, Best Actor, Best Actress (1 each). Each single honor selects one of the outstanding creators of the current session, and multiple collaborators can be honored together, and each single honor is limited to feature films only.

Best Short Film: 10.

Best Short Video: 10.

Jury Special Honor: 5

Jury Nomination: 30.
